When you build a house, you need a firm foundation. Yet, when most of us think about building a house, we’re much more apt to envision the sparkling new kitchen than the basement! Blogs also need a firm foundation, including blog hosting. If you’ve found your hosting wanting in 2017, this post is for you.
Now through 2 AM CST on February 6, 2018, you can get one site moved free when you sign up for hosting with Siteground. The time to make that move for your blog is now. And this is why.
This post contains affiliate links. They enable you to access products at no extra cost to you; however, they help me pay the rent. More on affiliate links here.
My own experience with Siteground has been rather good. I started up in September 2017, as green as anyone, maybe greener. (You can read more about that here.) I knew absolutely nothing about being on the Internet. But I did know I wanted to blog, not take a degree in computer science. After all, I’m about to retire!
After much reading I thought I’d better have some smart tech people back me up. I wanted a site that runs smoothly, reliably and fast enough to keep people with me. A blogger whose ideas I’d come to respect pointed the way to Siteground.
Blog hosting with world-class support
Being very new to the Internet, I needed a lot of guidance. Siteground’s documentation showed me most of what I needed to know. Not only that, but I got a call right after signing up from one of the smart people who takes care of things for me. He just wanted to be sure I knew I could call any time (24/7) with a problem and they’d help.
Not something like me, a newbie blogger, would expect. For a multinational company, sure, but for me?
So far I have been able to learn what to do by reading the tutorials. It’s possible even if you don’t know a lot of technical terms. A couple of times I almost put in for tech support but found the answer myself. Still, it’s good to know they have my back.
One of the things Siteground does is back up my site daily with an automated system. That way, if I were to mess up something while tinkering with my site, I can always restore what it was before. C-panel makes it easy to do things like restore the site, handle e-mail, and so much more. If you know about websites, you will likely love it, and if you don’t you’ll feel secure in short order.
Blog hosting with phenomenal security
Speaking of secure, Siteground has multiple layers at the application, server and network levels. Every week I get a report about how clean and safe my site is staying, because they check daily. They scan for viruses and malware, watch out with AI for bots, and do updates of WordPress and Joomla automatically. So far I have had no problems. None. The site has been up the whole time since last September. Much better than my ISP!
Lightning fast loading speeds for your readers
Did I mention my site loads superfast? Well, it evidently does or you’d get bored and go elsewhere before seeing this. And that is not acceptable for a blog. We want our content to be seen, after all. And some, like me, also want to pay the rent occasionally. So getting and keeping readers is part of the job, and Siteground’s way-above-average speed helps me do that.
OK, but what does it cost?
I mentioned paying the rent. Siteground plans are very competitively priced, starting at only $3.95 a month for a website with under 10,000 visits. That’s like a lot of us bloggers.
You could pay another hosting company the same amount and not get the superior service, the built-in security and the blinding speed you get at Siteground.
If you were renting an apartment for $1000 a month, would you take the one with a fridge with no door shelves and a stove with two burners, when you could get one with a real kitchen? I didn’t think so…
What about migration from my current host?
If you want to transfer from your current hosting, Siteground experts will help you bring one site over for free. Since I haven’t done that, here are some people who have below.
Please don’t let this opportunity slip by! With no obligation you can click a link and check this out before the free site migration offer expires February 6. You owe it to yourself to at least have a look.
Thanks so much for reading and have a wonderful day!
